THE HOUSE HIMMELFAHRT

... is different.

Built in the 16th century, it is embedded in a special historical context and a unique natural setting. It is situated on the quiet, romantic edge of the Ritten holiday mountain. We have now combined this heritage of tradition with accessibility and sustainability to make the past fruitful for the future. And to allow you to "simply take time out".

We are neither tour operators nor entrepreneurs, but rent from private to private. What counts is the idea. Because accessibility is more than just a building - it's an attitude.

Dear guests!

Despite its age, House Himmelfahrt is breaking new ground. It breaks with the agony of choosing between, on the one hand, the luxury of parkland, sauna and library of a respectable luxury hotel and, on the other hand, the tranquility, autonomy and modesty of a small private apartment. House Himmelfahrt creates a tertium datur, a third option that combines the benefits of luxury and privacy while building on a three-pillar philosophy of sustainability, accessibility and tradition. The House Himmelfahrt comes from the old days, but actively contributes to the new. It is modern and traditional at the same time and thus a specialty. I hope the result of our efforts will enable you to have that relaxing holiday that we as a family like to enjoy at House Himmelfahrt. If you want to know more about the house and its surrounding, take a look at the Vademecum(in German language).

Welcome to your break!

René and Sara

THE DREAM TEAM: Sara and René live in Haus Himmelfahrt and are the contact persons on site with their hands and hearts. They can be contacted on +39 380 6848004, reply to emails at info@himmelfahrt.it, provide our guests with help and advice when needed and are also happy to help out in the house and garden. In addition to their work at Haus Himmelfahrt, they also work in various theaters in South Tyrol and Tyrol. Sara studied stage and costume design at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Austria). René, on the other hand, studied musical theater at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (Germany). Both have countless art, culture and theater projects behind them. They also have experience as caregivers in a residential community with people with disabilities, managing a bicycle and rest stop, running a hotel bar and accompanying excursions with Lebenshilfe Südtirol. With this colorful mix as their background, they came to Haus Himmelfahrt to lift this house onto the stage of their lives and turn its very special atmosphere into their project and offer our guests a very special stage for relaxation.

Günther Rautz

THE SEMINARIST: Bringing people together is Günther's job - a trained lawyer and philosopher who, as a "wandering minority psychologist", has already advised the Dalai Lama and other political luminaries. Anyone booking on Booking.com will get to know Günther from the very first welcome email. Seminars, workshops and projects are all his own. Together with Gabriel, he has already explored torrents in Panama and attempted to unite the divided Mediterranean island in 2004 as part of the "Cycling along the last border" project in Cyprus. Not all of the joint projects have failed so miserably. In any case, Günther is an integral part of the family and the ideal contact for anyone who wants to organize seminars on all possible and impossible topics in Haus Himmelfahrt. The "Spiritus connexionis", as he freely calls himself after Nikolaus von Kues (Cusanus), is on hand to provide support. And can often be found in the seminar library or in the studio.

Gabriel Toggenburg

THE FOUNDER: Gabriel is the man behind this website and its texts, as well as the idea of transforming the former Toggenburg stables into a very special kind of hideaway. He is concerned with issues of accessibility and sustainability and wanted to give the old heritage of his ancestors a new dedication and direction while continuing the centuries-old tradition of refreshing vacations in Himmelfahrt. This gave rise to the idea of 4 barrier-free, sustainable vacation apartments dedicated to the last 4 generations of his ancestors: Assunta, Paul, Friedrich and Georg-Otto.
